Right, as if we didn't all know where this thread was going.
I wonder how long it will be before someone posts a "Yankees S*ck" or something equally inflamatory. Of course I would never say something like that, or even condone someone else saying it.

My wife's a dawgs fan also. We usually watch together, heheheheh.
About the braves- I just don't understand why noone wants them. The new owners stated-"we bought them for tax purposes".........as a tax credit!!!!! The last owners did it for the same reason. I just don't get it. If you could come in and put out the money to keep the guys that matter instead of letting the "we have more money than god does"-yankees steal all the talent they could go back and get what matters the most- A world series title. Then they'd be right back where they were in the early 90's and makin boatloads of cash on game days, like they used to.
I think the mlb needs to install a salary cap so the NYY would quit payin for titles, But I'll quit cause now I'm starting to sound like I care about what happens in the mlb.

Now this, I do get.
MLB (not unlike any other professional sport) is a business. It is a business for the Owners, and it is a business for the Players, who are nothing more than subcontractors, or hired mercenaries as like like to call them.
Purchasing a MLB franchise is in most cases is a fairly decent investment, with returns averaging in the last 25 years at around 14% annually......not bad.
Ted Tuner bought your Braves in 1976 for $11 million. Time Warner later inherited the Braves when they purchased Turner Broadcasting in 1996 for $7.6 billion. It was speculated that the Braves were $150 million of the $7.6 billion, a return for Ted Turner of 1200 percent.
This year, Time Warner sold your Braves for a record breaking amount of $1.27 billion, a return for Time Warner of 960 percent.
The Braves are my favorite team no matter who owns the team and how much the team was bought for.
I like the NFL Cowboys too, even if the quarterback can't hold on to the ball for a winning field goal.
I like Ford trucks too, even if new ones cost more that half a years salary.
GOOOOOOOO BRAVES!!!!!!!!!
heeheehee!
