Stalling on acceleration
my I-6,300 Ford engine runs fine at idle and up to 50 MPH, when accelerating it starts hesitating then stalls or die, I had to release the gas pedal and press again to get the engine running again.
The only thing I did is removing the Exhaust Control Valve because it stucks in half close position, and heats up the exhaust manifold to a very hi temp (red colour).
Do you think that was the problem or do I have to check something else.
Wish to get a clue for that stalling.
Hamid.
The engine was running fine before I took both manifolds out and disassymbled them and remove the stuck exhaust control valve. The same thing for the carb I just removed it and put it back.

My carb is Carter 1 brl with electric choke, fits 86 year model engine. It was running fine, just got back from 1200 Mile trip. I just removed it like I said for ETV ( Exhaust Thermactor Valve) deactivation due to stuck in half close position. The Carb is new rebuilt installed 6 monthes ago. I am afraid I have to put a new ETV on. That manifold is pain in the butt, I removed it nearly 6 times for many reasons.
Thanks for your info.
Hamid
