Camshaft position switch
I have a 1999 Ranger 3.0 liter automatic 2wd. Last evening I noticed my oil pressure gauge was registering zip. The check engine light was also on. I hooked up my code reader and got a P0340 which is camshaft positon switch malfunction. I've check out the info on this forum on the switch and plan to replace it but I'm trying to find out if this would have anything to do with the oil pressure guage. By the way the truck seems to be running great. I'm not hearing any knocking/pinging/ticking or anything that would sound like the engine was running dry.
