Honney Help!!!!

I am in the middle of replacing the ball joint and u-joints. Everything is going ok but how do you get the ball joint out once you take the little ring seal off. I dont want to damage the seat. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks couldnt have gotten this far without your help!!

Honney Help!!!!

Don't know if your still thrashing with your ball joint problem, but you might check this web site out -

http://www.off-road.com/ford/bigbroncos/index.html

and go to their tech site. great how-to on ball joint replacement.
I printed it out, put it in a plastic sleeve, and had it out in the driveway with me while doing the job.

hope this helps

You really need to rent or buy a ball joint press to get the ball joint out of the knuckle. There should be pics on the site mentioned above.

Honney Help!!!!

I agree on needing a press. I rented one and it wouldn't do the job, tho..
So, I finished disassembling both sides, strapped the spindles to the rack on my mountain bike, and rode over to the nearest Les Schwab dealer. They pressed out the old ones and pressed in the new ones for free. Great place to buy tires out here in the west - their customer service is great!

Honney Help!!!!

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the responses. I think I may have mislead yall with my question. I was talking about the ball joint in the double cardan on the front of my drive shaft. See my gallery for close ups. Honney this is part 612 at napa you suggested and I saw on your page at super ford. Anyway, i ended up cutting the stainless ball out with my dremel. worked pretty well. So today I took it to the drive shaft shop to have it balanced and I think I have messed up my weekends worth of work by driving it to work yesturday. **%$$#@@@!**&^%& . They are going to look at it tomorrow and let me know the damage. At this point if anything is wrong I will let them fix it. Lesson learned though. I know what to do next time. Which I hope is a long time from now.

Whats new with everyone elses broncos?? Any fun projects???

Thanks Again for all your posts.
