Rooler lifter 351?
i just bought a motor that was out of a 1992 ford bronco. it only had 80k miles on it and i got it for 300$. i was wondering if it was a roller lifter motor or not? and if it isnt, would it be worth it to convert it??

roller 351W came out in 94 from what I've read.....and in my book if it runs don't fix it and at the power level you would be running I'd say it's a waist of money, lots of other go fast parts should be had before rollers....

Pull the intake and find out for yourself, if it is it'll have a spider in the lifter valley. If not it's not worth converting, IMO, you can get the same TQ and HP with a flat tappet cam for 1/4 the $$$.

Really? I have been trying to understand lifter accelleration rate, ramp rate, velocity, ect. I am baffled because I keep hearing the roller can tollerate a more aggressive ramp, or that the roller merely reduces friction. IN an e-mail the Cam Wizard from Lazer cams told me that with a roller lifter I only gain about 12 or less hp from friction losses and I was better off with rocker-arms. Does anybody run Solids with EEC? I think there is more power with a solid cam.

it would cost about 300.00+ for linked lifters 200.00 for a cam 150.00 for push rods 150.00 or so for springs just to run roller lifters.
800.00+ - to upgrade to roller lifters thats not including rockers if you were to go crazy with a huge cam.
worth it.......
