Double frame?

I don't know much about 4x4's but isn't stacking frames kind of extreme?

I came across this add....

http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehi...QAdIdZ10709303

Picture is not great but it looks like he has put one frame on top of another to get lift, maybe cheaper than a lift kit but heavy!

It might be cheaper then the cost of a lift kit....But a whole lot more work ! And by looking close in the 2nd pic,it didn't seem to help any drive shaft issues

All I can say is, oops, can't say that on a public forum!!! I'm sure it does accomplish the mission of raising the truck, but there sure are a lot better ways to get it done!!!

I've got an old monster truck magazine from the early 1980s laying around somewhere. There were a few in there built like that. Back when monster trucks had real bodies and frames, doors that open, dashboards, carpet... not these fake fiberglass things they use now.

Seems like this topic has come up before and the biggest argument had to due with safety, In extreme handling conditions there is the possibility of the frames seperating and causing a loss of control.

I saw one a while ago that was hinged at the back so you could work on the whole driveline with the body out of the way. It was sort of cool for a show truck, but not for a driver. It does seem like a safety issue, and a lot of added weight.
