On board air

I know this has been touched on before, but thought maybe there might have been some new innovations since. I am interested in rigging up an onboard air compressor with enough cfm to run some minor pneumatic tools. Any ideas??

Look into the new Warn winch w/ air compressor. That looks sweet.

You could always wire in a convertor and just throw a pancake compressor in the back.

I have a 3000 watt inverter under the back seat with a cord to the bed and a plug for in the cab. I have ran my small compressor on it. It doesn't like it! But it will run it, and you have to have the truck running or else you won't be starting the truck later on. Ask me how I know. If you get an inverter be sure and use big enough gauge wire for the inverter. I used "0" (ott) [I know how to say not spell it] wire and a 200amp braker. I trip it and not the fuse on the inverter. Not an easy task to get to the fuse on the inverter.

I have a really cool pdf. file that shows the installation of a on board air system. I can't remember the individual that made it but its a pretty slick setup. PM if you interested and I can email the file to you.
