last night i was looking at the gear at the end of the speedometer cable in the tranny, and upon inspection is was not stripped at all.
my question is, can it get internally stripped?
i.e. can the connection between the cable and the gear somehow get messed up?
because the gear slides up and down the cable a little bit, and when i pulled it as far down (towards the end of the cable) i could finger turn it. but if i pushed it all the way up it would not turn.
