Ford searches the registration data bases periodically & notifys new owners. They found me in less than a year as second owner.

But this is a good example, albeit sad, of why you need to be proactive & check the status of recall on this family of trucks.

Glad you got someone who feels confident about bringing it back to life. Keep us updated.

Also glad it didn't take out your home.

Glad the mechanic is able to help you out. I may have some stuff lying around from the front of a '94 XL 300ci that I bought a few months back. If you need something I can look and see if I might have it. She was pretty and I hope she will be again for you.

That is an ugly sight. Ford checks vehicle registrations for recall purposes. I got a recall notice on an '86 Tempo that I was at least the third owner of and it had come from out-of -state.

Thats a shame that Ford didn't get a hold of you. Hopefully she will be running again in not time. Ford should take more time (and money) in designing parts for their vehicles and maybe this kind of thing wouldn't happen anymore.

they will replace the harness with one that has a built in fuse, so if it does short because of a leak, it will blown the fuse....no fire...read the "recall" thread about more info on this subject.
