I have been slammed by someone in the "rate this user" section he says I do not know the difference between a Multi-port injection system and a TBI or Throttle-body injection system. Here is my basic description of the two: a Multi-port system has injectors for each of the cylinders and these are located fairly close to the intake valves. A multi-port injection system does use something called a throttle body but this is not the same as a TBI. The throttle body on a multi-port system has no injectors in it and it only meters air coming thru and tells the computer the throttle position (I know there are some other sensors and stuff on it but the main thing is that there is no fuel injectors). A TBI system is pretty close to the old carbs. It looks similar to a carb but it is different in that it has fuel injectors in it. This is my simple explanation. Now Ford started using EFI's on their 302's in 1986 (I heard some say 85 does not matter) and a few years later on their 351's. Now I say these were Multi-port injected engines and not TBI's the person slamming me says they were TBI's. Please respond and let me know if I am right or wrong I know I am not perfect and I may be wrong from time to time on something but I know I am not wrong on this. But, if I am wrong I will e-mail this person an apology so all you Ford techs out there please help.

dont worry about your rating so much. i got slammed by a guy, and had a -2 rating for a while. some people are just like that. they cannot be wrong, or no one can know more than they do. from what i read of your post it seemed close enough for me. dont worry about it. i try to learn something new every day, which aint that hard for me.
You're right Rick, it's MPI. If nothing else simply because it has one injector per cylinder while TBI has like 2 injectors total? As a result, MPI has a dry intake while TBI has a wet intake.
But who cares, the whole rating thing is hella stupid, I opted out of it the moment I saw it come about.
