ULSD additives

Just got a new '08 SLT crew PSD and was goint to get some cetane booster and anti-gel from the dealer and all he had was the kind with the label saying not for use with ULSD. Should the dealer be getting the newest additives soon or has anyone else found them?
What a beast! Can't wait to tow my racecar trailer to the first race. Just have to melt a foot of snow first!

Powerservice (Diesel Kleen) has their ULSD additives out now. White bottle for cold weather, grey bottle for the rest.

Beerstalker's comment is important...I bought a gallon of grey and then spent 20 minutes the next wally world trip trying to figure out the difference between the white and grey...the white has the anti-gel, the grey doesn't.

Even more time consuming...how or what to use to measure and dispense the Diesel Kleen at fill-ups!

BeachBumCook shared how he carries his fuel additive in his Excursion. He uses MSR fuel bottles like these: http://www.msrcorp.com/stoves/bottles.asp

I bought two myself, and they work great. For measuring, I cut the top off a 12 oz. soft drink can, then put an 8 oz. mark on the inside of it. I pour from the gallon jug into the aluminum can, then pour that into the MSR bottle. I usually use 16 oz. per fill-up, so I meaure out two cans into one MSR bottle.

LOL!!! I use a "recycled" Sta-bil bottle. It's heavy duty translucent plastic. It holds more that a quart of additive and has it's own gradiated measuring tube/device that allows me to add in one ounce increments, and has a built-in tube so I don't need to carry a funnel. Sweet!

I use Stanadyne performance formula. It is now formulated for ULSD. I buy a case of 16oz bottles and pour in 8oz when I fill up at stations that I trust and use regularly. When I fill up at stations that I normally don't use when I'm on a trip I double the amount and use 16oz.

I keep two half filled 16 oz. bottles of Stanadyne in a zip loc bag behind the seat. Eight ounces is just right for a fill up. No measuring, no funnels, just dump it in, fill up and toss the bottle.

Man I can't believe you guys are that worried about how much you use. I just keep the big bottle in my toolbox and dump some in every fill up. I kind of eyeball it with the little clear part on the side. Using some is better than nothing at all, and if you put too much in it's just overkill it won't do any damage.

I had to put some in a bucket. Once I open a 32 oz bottle that junk is EVERYWHERE .. and it's nasty ..

I like those MSR bottles !

I use empty 1/2 ltr pop or water bottles. Make a mark on the side for 8 ounces. At home, I have a 200 gal diesel tank that I throw the full 96 oz in (treats 300 gals - works fine for 200) so I never have to add if filling at the house.
