Ive recently began to think that my 95 F-150 has a keyless entry unit, just no fob. When I bought the truck the keys I got werent even Ford keys. The truck does have the anti-theft light flashing. Can anyone tell me if it is equipped with the keyless entry unit.
If has factory theft light good chance it has keyless entry. The box is in area above gas peddle .there are many posts on this. As well as how to
program a fob . Which are common on eBay. Good luck
Short of removing the instrument cluster cover & viewing the module through the opening where the electric shift buttons mount, you could lock the doors using the power switch on either of the doors, close the doors (while you are inside the truck), and wait 30-60 seconds. Open one of the doors from the inside and if you have a properly functioning keyless entry with the theft option, the horn will sound & lights flash intermittently for a little more than 2 minutes. You can end the alarming if you insert the key into the ignition & turn it to the on position.
The keyless 'box' is located right behind the cubby/storage recess in the lower dash panel. If you look uo from the floor board you can see the box. It has three wiring harness attached to it and one single wire for the antenna. The alarm was part of the keyless entry package. On the front side of the keyless box is the transmitter code.
We have just purchased a 2004 Ford Explorer XLT....the dealership did not have the code to the keyless entry pad on the driver side door...we were wondering if there was any free and hassle free way to locate the default code so that we can actually have a functioning keyless entry feature?
I am not sure where the control module is located on the new Explorers, but if you can find it (others on this site should be able to help with that) the code should be printed in large numerals on the top or face side. On the earlier models it was located above the left rear wheel well. The code is readable with use of a flashlight & mirror. We also had to do this on our 1995 since the dealer could not provide the information.
I hope this helps! That keyless entry system is very handy.
