Which alternator to use

I just got my truck, it is a 1988 F250 Diesel 4x4, my problem is the electrical system seems to be struggling. When i ama driving with the lights on and the heater, the amp guage really goes down, and putting on a blinker makes it worse. I dont have my CD player in it yet, but i assume this will only make the problem worse. I was looking on some websites for replacement alternators and came accross an "ambulance" alternator that had like twice the output, does anyone know if this would work safely in a otherwise un-modified Diesel?

Perhaps it is the voltage regulator and not the alternator ?

and yes with the correct bracketry that 100-130 amp alt will work.

If everything is stock, the stock alternator should keep up with room to spare. Check the voltage at the battery terminals with the truck running at idle. If should be around 14 to 14.5 volts.
