hello all,
i have an oppertunity to possible pick up an 86 bronco for a lot truck for plowing. i am currently plowing with a 78 f150. my question is this, .. are the frames the same in the front? i did'nt think so but someone tried to tell me just that. it does'nt matter to me, i fabbed up the plow frame i have on the 150 from a chevy 1/2 ton , so i can do what i have to to make it fit. was just wishfull thinking i guess. any feedback is appreciated, thanks - mike

I don't know about the frame, but you will need to do something with the suspension. The Bronco coils aren't stiff enough to lift most plow blades. You can try to get beefier springs or put in airbags to suppliment the existing ones.
agreed, my f150 has a 4" suspesion lift so the coils are pretty stiff. i would probably go the airbag route. it's just for pushing snow in the yard so the cheapest easist route would be the way to go here. yes the frame is what i was referring to
Not sure but I think the Frame width is exactly the same. I've swapped a rear-end from a 79 into an 86 F150 and the frame width's were the same. And I know you can swap out the solid axle front ends from the 78/79 Bronco's into the later model Bronco's and F150's. I think they changed it in 76, because my 72 was different than the 79/86 frame width. The front frame horns are probably a little different (different style bumpers) but it shouldn't be too hard of a swap.
Frame are different . Just go get F350 2x4 coils for front they will handle the plow . Bronco's are great plows I used 2 plow in 2x4 where my F150 would get stuck.
I can't think of a lake shawnee. Not saying it doesn't exist, but I know of no camp around here, other than camp Naish. That's the boy scout camp in Bonner Springs.
it was a day camp if i remember correctly, and i spent the summer in topeka with family, so it would have to have been an hour or less drive i'm guessing?
