Well I got the front clip off and have the engine removed. Started cleaning up and found more rust. Just look at it like its a new adventrue right??? Posted new pics in the gallery. Now to start finding parts. Like a jag ifs , engine, tranny, column,, ahhh the dark side.
The fun has started. It looks like the truck has a good sunburn but compared to northern trucks it looks very solid. Just a suggestion that you work the body first. Too many guys rip into the drive train and lose interest. If you do your own bodywork, the $ flow is not that high. Good luck.
Its always fun getting started and tearing apart everything. Take lots of pictures, and take detail pics of everything, bag and tag parts, bolts, etc. You'll be suprised at how many things dissappear and you are left turning small circles in the center of your garage murmuring " I know had had those, where in the world did I put them"
Come to the darkside, step away from the light. That way the only thing you need to mark on disassembly is the body stuff. All that other junk gets sold off/bartered for new stuff that won't just bolt back in anyway. And remember how much fun this day is cuz when your truck doesn't resemble a truck for 2 or 3 years it will carry you through! Good luck and frame off.
I have a chance if everything works out to pick up a mid 80s xj complete, you know the dark side is pulling and ifs an irs and could even be a complete drive chain into my f1, lord help me!
