Just got a new complete set of Pro Comp ES9000's. Had installed them on my Ranger and liked them. Especially, the price. This time I got the boots. Of course, they come with no instructions. Soooo.....I plan to zip tie the top of the boot onto the lower bushing, right up against mounting plate and zip tie the lower part of the boot on the top of the shock. All this with the thought of keeping water and dirt out of the shocks workings. Any second opinions? Am I thinking clearly here? Tks, Jim
Whoops! In answer to your question, Bigun, they did not come with hose clamps. Only one zip tie a piece. Got plenty of zip ties and hose clamps around, however. Jim
boots, can contain moisture, and premature rust will form on the shaft, depends on where you drive and what you drive through, I off-road, and would never think to put boots on.
Thanks for your thoughts, Lizard. I have considered the moisture/rust question. My F150 is only driven 1-2 times a week l(I walk to work))and we live only 300 yds from salt water in the Puget Sound. I am planning on sealing the rod off the best I can with the boot from outside moisture and will take a look at it next winter, especially after returning from elk hunting. If this years hunting was anything like last years monsoon, we will be able to judge whether my efforts will pay off...or not. Jim
