Wassup ya'll, got a couple of, (Hopefully quick) questions. I was takeing a look at my rig today, '85 F-250 6.9l 4x4 SuperCab, and was wondering, how hard is it to mount a floor shifter, in the style of like a B&M ratchet for example, and what are your thoughts as to a good one to use. I was thinking about doing that and replaceing the stearing collum with one out of a manual trans truck. Along thouse same lines what transmission is in this truck??? I would assume its the factory trans, or how would I find out??? I've only had the truck for about 2 and a half weeks now.
Also does anybody know of any other truck with a 60/40 split bench seat that will directly fit into the cab of my truck?? I'm probably gonan head out to a wreaking yard this weekend and want to know what to look for..
Last one, I promice...LOL Is there a company that sells a bolt on(Or close to it) kit to put dual stacks on the truck or is it pretty much a take it to the exaust shop and take your chances kinda thing??

85,
I got nothing for you on the floor shifter or the stacks. My understanding of the bench seats is you can remove your rails and mount them to just about any bench & get it to go. Haven't had any direct experience with it...yet...a 40/20/40 or 60/40 with console bench is on the wish list though. No cup holders in the 350 at this point. What's up with that?
heres a kit you can buy on ebay, i wouldnt buy it, but it gives you an idea of how to do it, if you google exhaust stacks and look around a bit, youll find places that sell pieces, and for alot cheaper!
ok well as far as the flor shifter i got a hurst rachet shirter it was just eaiser to use then the other one. mounting it is pretty easy it has a cable so you can put it just about any where and as far as finding out what tranny you have look at the transmission pan shape and go to lmctruck.com they have a place that tells you what kind you have. the shifter has a bunch of different brakets for different applications. well i hope this helps a little
if its an auto tranny, its a c-6, if its a manual its more then likely a t-19 4 speed is a t-19, if its a 5 speed, its a zf5 and was swapped in from a newer model diesel........
