2002 Ranger 2wd leveling kit

I've got a 2002 2wd Ranger and I'm getting ready to put on a 3" body lift. I want to level out the front end before I put the lift on, but can't seem to find anyone who carries it. If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it.

To simply 'level' out the truck, I believe most guys are just cranking the torsion bars. There's lots of threads on how to do that. You'll love the truck lifted and you'll be able to get bigger tires on her.

Good luck
Fred

He may not have torsion bars. Do you have an EDGE pacakge or is your front end coil-spring type?

Use 3" spindles up front and 1" blocks out back. You will enjoy the additional ground clearance.

I have coil type! No torsion bars. I've seen the poly bushings that you add to the front springs for other years but not for my '02. Who has the 3" spindles and blocks?

I've been able to find coil spacers but they only go up to 1997. Guess nobody makes them for any years after that!

Did you try daystar for the spacers? Let me check around and see what I can find.

Will the F-150 spacers fit on your coil mounts?

www.fabtechmotorsports.com, makes lift kits for the 02 2wd ranger. Spring spacers aren't highly recomended, they can and will pop out. There better than nothing but not by much. The fabtech kit will level your truck and you won't need the body lift. I'm not a fan of body lifts as they create gaps between the body and frame, bumpers and frame, not to mention allignment problems with shifters and such. Save your doe and get a quality lift kit and you will have something when your done. The fabtech kit is functional as well as looks good. You could dersert race that baby if you wanted to ha ha. There's also lift kits on ebay, you can use loner springs on the front and add a leaf to the rear, there's really no reason you have to use a cheesy body lift at all. What size tires are you wanting to run?

I found a 3" spindle front/2" add-a-leaf rear kit from Empire Offroad.com.It's by Fabtech. That would put my front end at 34" fenderwell to ground and 35" fenderwell to ground on the rear. Still not level but I guess it's as close as I'm gonna get. I'm not locked in on wheel size yet. I'm looking for that pre-runner look so its either 30's or 31's. The only thing that sucks is that both of these in BF Goodrich only come in 15" rim sizes, also I'm not for sure that 31's are gonna clear that easily. Thanks for all your guys help with this, I'm gonna probaly go with the fabetch kit just hate to fork out the 638 bucks. Damn I'm too tight!!!

Sure it will clear, easy!!! If you need a 16", go with the bfg 265/75-16, thats what I'm running, looks awesome. The 4x4's can run up to a 33" tire without doing anything and 35's with just cranking the t-bars.So with a 3" spindle lift, 265's would fit easy, the rear is no problem. The 265/75 -16's are allmost 32" tall and 10.5" wide, great for the pre-runner look.

10-4, should turn out real nice, you'll be much happier with the performance of the fabtech lift kit -vs- spring spacers or a body lift. It won't only look like a pre-runner, it will function more like one. Good luck with it and please do keep me up to speed with your progress. You may also want to conceder 4:10 gears if you don't allready have them, They'll help keep the power on tap with larger tires. If you need to install gears, you might as well throw a good lsd in there like the Detroit tru-tac and have a real capable offroad truck. Don't freak out, the good thing about modding your truck is, you don't have to buy everything at once, do it in stages as you can afford to, 1 piece at a time as Jonny Cash would say ha ha.
