If the comment regarding the Edge was directed towards me, the tranny was slipping prior to my installation of the Edge. I was assured by the dealer that the flare between shifts was normal, turns out its not.
He is mistaken . 3yrs 36k on reman Ford tranny. They don't warrantee a reman longer than the factory ones.
I double checked after I picked up my truck and the reman tranny does in fact have a 75,000 mile warranty. I will try to scan the docs and post them to prove it but that will have to wait till I get to the office where I keep that stuff.
I did double and triple check and the shipping crate the tranny came in even said it has a 75k warranty.

I looked up my paperwork and didn't find the 3yr/75000 mile warranty stated anywhere so I called the dealer that did the work.
He called back after checking into it to say that it is a 36 month/75,000 mile warranty on the reman. I asked him to fax me something on that and I am still waiting on that. I will scan and post when I get it.
Back in my younger days I had a Ford that would not upshift properly. Took it to, what I thought was, a reliable transmission shop. The tech? smelled the fluid, said it was fried and told me I needed a complete rebuild. Went to a second shop for an estimate. The tech listened to the symtoms, popped the hood and pointed to the linkage and showed me where a 10 cent clevis pin had fallen out. Total cost of repair, 10 cents!
Guess what? My trans is out AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shifted real hard, tow/haul light flashing, and starts in 2nd gear and shifts one time. Took it back for my 12m/12,000 mile warranty, they tell be the trans needs a rebuild since there is something "binding-up" inside. This is Deja Vu. Same symptoms, same answers, same "without a truck". He says the codes indicate an "improper gear ratio" in the trans. Can anyone help?? Please?? Could this be a speed sensor somewhere on the truck? If so, where do I start. Obviously these guys have no clue. Help me please!!
I had similar issues with the tow/haul light flashing and wouldn't shift into 4th or OD. Did some research on this site. Everyone here told me to change out the Transmission Fluid Temp Sensor and wiring harness. Did it myself for $200. Truck runs great. These trannys are rock solid and have been for years. Its the electrical issues that are giving them a bad rap.
When I purchased my rebuilt transmission from ford (april 2008) I got a 3 year/100,000 mile warranty at that time. If I remember right the extra 25,000 had something to do with competing with Jasper rebuilds, because they had a large wall chart in the parts dept. showing the advantage of buying a Ford rebuild vs a Jasper.
Looking for some suggestions!! I've got an 04 F350 Super Cab 4X4 6.0 with auto tranny. I have been without this truck now for over a year. The clutches burned up a year ago. I took it to the Tranny shop for a rebuild. After two test drives totalling 90 miles the tranny burnned up again. Long story short the tranny has been in and out of the truck a total of 4 times and rebuilt 3. All while residing at the Tranny Shop for the last 12 months. The last time the tranny was out they were having a problem finding reverse with the tranny in the truck, but when they took it out, they said the tranny seems to be shifting fine when not in the truck. So they did not feel a new tranny was needed, maybe a linkage problem, so they reinstalled the tranny. However last week the day I was supposed to finally pick it up, they took it for a test drive and stopped for something to drink, left the truck running, came out and had reverse in 3 gears. Now we are at a complete stand still. Could this be an electrical problem? Wiring Harness? ???? Any suggestions ????
