Simple fuel tank question...
Well as the title says this is just a simple question. I have a box off of a 73-77 Ford (single fuel door) on my '79. Is getting the filler neck to work just a matter of getting a 73-77 filler neck? Or are the fuel tanks different?

There are different fuel tanks, different necks and different hoses. 2 or 4WD?
Fuel doors weren't used till mid year 1976.

they should still be similar to each other, with some modification it should be a pretty easy job. does the new bed have all the hoses and things?

Seven different fuel filler lines for one year truck. Nice. Whatever happened to simplicity?

Short bed, long bed, styleside or flareside? Ca or non CA truck originally? With or without evap emission?
Build date, and serial number needed. Engine size is?
All these combo's, it's no wonder old parts guys are grouches.

I agree, I was going to mention something about old parts guys, but chose not to. With all these differences just for a fuel tank I can only imagine the numerous times a parts person has pulled his/her hair out after the end of a work day.
