Have a '93 Bronco 5.8 with OD transmission. This last week the truck started shaking between 30-40mph, not below or above those speeds. Only seems to shake when accelerating, not when coasting at those speeds. Any ideas? Thanks.
I just went through that a couple of weeks ago. It turned out to be a u-joint on the rear drive shaft up near the transfer case. I had to stick a small pry bar in there to actually find it because it felt OK when I checked it by hand.
The tie-rods, u-joints, and ball-joints were all checked out and tires were rebalanced. Still shaking, also at 50-65mph hear kind of a rubbing noise. The shaking and noise only occur when giving it gas, not when coasting. Could it be a motor mount or transmission mount?
