I'm looking for info on the X-code front leaf springs. I have an 03 that I want to put them on for a little more lift, but have now way of knowing what I already have. I realize it's on the doorjam stickers, but my truck is a recovered theft, and all the stickers are gone.
I'm wondering if there is a part number stamped on the spring somewhere, and if anyone knows what code each part number correlates to?
I have a F-350 dualie that sat down in the front about 2 inches from the factory. A friend of mine told me to order a set of F-450/550 leafs and it would improve ride and pickup the front end. Best $200 I spent. It picked up the front about 2 1/2 inches and made it ride much better.
I recommend going to your local FORD Parts dept...and giving them your VIN. Let them find exactly how your SD was built and with what spring rates. Not a fun way to do it, but hope that helps.
You could always just buy a leveling kit...if you do not like the factory rake our SD's have.
thanks for the tips. It's at the dealer right now getting head gaskets, so I'll probably talk to them about my VIN and the parts guy to see about buying some x codes new.
For cheap money, I'm pretty much locked into this. I already have a 4.5" DR lift plus the 2" mini spring pack. I need to keep the springs stock (ie; x code) so I can still use the mini spring pack. Just looking for another inch or so to help clear my new 37's on 22's.
