Tranny Questions
This is the second winter having my PSD. On days its cold it doesn't shift into OD intill I see the tranny temp gauge ( stoker ) move a alittle. Is it because of the tranny being cold yet? Didn't know if its a safety thing or not, because when its warmer out it doesn't do this. Its real anouying so is there a way to change this? I only live 8 miles from work and don't see my isspro tranny gauge move at all.
Question 2. I read about our tranny not holding up to anything and was wondering where the weak link was and how to fix it to make it last or to not worry if its going to fail on me. Is it a temp thing? Or will a BTS valve body fix our problams? I read about the BTS but no don't know if it make our trannys bullet prof or just hold up to what I can throw at it. I don't have the $$$ for a new TQ converter, just want to know what will hold up. I hope this isn't a

There is a Tc lock-up override in the programming of the PCM. It doesn't allow lock-up of the convertor until it gets the temp up a little. it is annoying I agree, can it be changed, I bet Jody probably may be able to.
The valve body will help extend the life, with your regularly scheduled tranny maint. TC's are also nice. Coolers and gauges work as well, but that is about it, once the clutches go then its rebuild time..
Driving habits affect the clutches, try not to overload the clutches with power, if it shudders/slips get back out of it.
