Noise from steering column
I have a 2003 F150 4x4 with the 4.6.
Everytime I go over bumps I get this noise coming from the under the steering column area.
It sounds like a cricket. I can also get the noise to happen by tapping on the steering wheel.
If I raise or lower the tilt steering it will stop for a bit then start up again.
It's definately under the steering column area but close to the steering wheel.
Anyone know what might be making this noise?

I couldn't help myself.......
Get a 3' length of hose, 3/8" maybe. Hold one end to your ear ( like a stethoscope ) and search for the "cricket" with the other. Now you will probably need an associate to wiggle the steering while you search it out unless you're more talented than I.
Probably a dry bearing/bushing or a loose piece of plastic trim, my guess.
