what the hell is wrong with my clutch?

i have a 1989 ford f-150 and as i was driving home last night i pushed the clutch in and then it wouldnt come out i had to drive all the way home in third gear. the clutch pedal will now not pop back out unless it is pulled by hand please help i have to go to school tommorow but would mind pulling an all nighter

The same thing just happened to me, it is most likely the Slave cylinder for the clutch. Check to see if you have fluid in the bell housing. Mine went bad enough that the fluid was leaking out of the bell housing. If this is the case you will have to drop the tranny and replace the slave cylinder. While you are in there you might as well do the throw-out bearing, clutch, and pressure plate. It's also a good idea to get your flywheel refinished and replace the rear main while your in there. I dropped the transfer case and driveline (4x4 so front and rear) last night and will be dropping the tranny tonight and hopefully have it all together by the end of the night.

same thing happened to me. slave cylinder for sure.

Depends in your area look around for and find the cheapest one if you dont wanna spend a lot doing it yourself saves $$$ good luck man
