Need some advice for rust protection

I have an 88 Bronco II that I'm installing Cut Out flares on. I have new front fenders and hood from China with shipping primer on them. The rest of the body will be sanded down and has a few spots with surface rust on it.

The truck will be used for off road travel and my concern is rust. It will get it's share of scratches on narrow trails and see some bad weather, water crossings and a bit of mud. What I'd like to do is to use a spray on bed linner for the fenders and sides. I think I'll have the top and hooded painted as it won't get a lot of scratches.

What should I use to seal the the metal where I cut and drill the new fenders for the cut out flares? And also the surface rust? How about the under side of the hood and back or the fenders? POR? Rust Bullet? Or something else.

What bed liner works best for this?

I have another FTE guy thats has done paint before that is going to do this for me. I'm the helper and the guy who is providing meterials. I am not concerned about the few dents that are on it and don't need a show finish. Just need a good tough finish that will last.

Thanks for any help on this.

I personally like the hippo-liner- any of them should be fine though. Use the zink to kill any source of rust on the parts then seal good and you will be fine. I like the por 15 bu the easton makes a good alternative and then there is rust bullet. I don't know with the hype of each...but they will all probably work. The por, imo, is awesome but it does fade with contact with sun and you can't really put much on top of it where you can with eastons and, supposedly the rust bullett.

My next experiment will be with rust bullet.

I put the hippoliner on the bottom of the side panels on my kids bronco...not at all worried about scratches...its a 2 part urethane which is tougher than the poly bed liners. I like it a lot and you can color match with it. it's very very tough.

Looks like Hippo is an epozy 2 part product. Eastwood has a 2 part product. Both are tintable but use different stuff to tint with.

Speed liner has the color I like. Garnet Red Metallic I think.

Can't find much info on these. Most seem to say something about UV and fad or chalking.

Anyone else have any info?
