Hello guys, I just got a 96 F-250 4x4 4.10 gears 5.8L engine. Driving around town with a light foot im getting about 11mpg. To me this seems like bad mpg but the dealer said it was about normal. I thought that if i drove light i could at least get into the teens. The truck has low miles (44,000) so perhaps it had been sitting around for a while. what kind of mileage are you guys getting? is my mpg normal?

Sounds about right. You are pushing around a 6000 lb truck with the aerodynamic profile of a cinder block. I don't know what tranny you have (it makes a difference).
For best mileage, keep the tires properly inflated, keep it tuned up, change the O2 sensor, and take it easy on the gas. Not much else you can do.
