I have a 2003 f250. 5.4 Vehicle will not crank over with the key. I can hear the relays under the dash clicking, but my dash lights are very dim.. I can get the starter to turn over if i jump it with a screwdriver, but the truck still wont start with the key in the on position. Thought it was maybe a grounding issue so i used jumper cables to ground the battery to the block but nothing. Battery is brand new. Any help would be appreciated
Thought I would answer my own question in case someone in the future does a search and this thread comes up. I hope it will help someone.
On the driverside wheelwell under the hood was a black plastic,1 and 1/4 inch square "box" that reads "caution-high current" A cable from the battery goes in one end and attaches to a bolt and nut which then goes out the other side to under the dash. This was corroded and pulled right apart when i gently pulled on it. I attached the two wires together and the truck started right up. Hope this helps someone.
