Ok, finally got a camera. Posted some of the changes I've made to the old girl and pics of those roof insulation pieces I was talking about.
They are in my gallery.

Now remember, none of what you see now is what she's going to be when I'm done.
Just made some mods to make me more comfortable.

So that is the trunk insulation you were talking about. I can make due with that if it keeps the heat out. Keep the changes coming, they only lead to more and better changes inthe future. I have my own frankenstein on my hands to deal with. LOL

This truck was a Custom Cab. Has the deluxe gauge cluster, and moulding across dash hid the edge of the padded dash. Door panels had mouldings and plastic door panels (screw holes visible). Grille was originally chrome. If truck originally had bucket seats and center console, then it was a Ranger.

This is the first Flareside I've ever seen with the deluxe gauge cluster. If this was a Ranger, it would be a rare bird indeed. Look on the door face near the latch for the VIN plate. Second line where it says body-3 digits. Posting that body code will define model type and upholstery colors, and whether it was a Ranger or not.

26,491 F100 4X2 Flaresides were made in 1966.

Thanks Fellas! Don't think she was a Ranger though. Had a bench seat in her when I bought it.
Body code is E81, ND.
I suppose it's possible the PO could have changed the bed since It's brown and the rest of the truck was red & white. (after all, I know now that they changed the tranny. It's apparently out of a passanger car- via the tag on it. Found that out when I changed the clutch)
Well, I like her anyway and she's a kick to drive.

Great progress; seems to be a very solid old girl. Just how many rattle cans does it takes to paint a truck? Not a bad spray on paint coating you got there. Atleast the new paint will preserve her for now & make her look more fashionable. LOL
Keep us posted.
