MOPAR question!!
so my buddy and i have got a 97 2500 ram with a 5.9 v8. 379k on it. the tranny blew, and we decided to pull the motor and rebuild it
well since its just a play truck, a reject one of his dad's old work trucks, we liked it enough to redo it.
anyway my question is, we want to put a NV4500 inplace of the 46RE. can we just leave the tranny connectors unhooked? or do we have to figure out a way to remove it from the harness?? is it possible to keep the auto tranny computer?? what would happen if we did?
its 2wd long bed reg cab with 4.10's and a limited slip. i am a ford truck man/mopar muscle man, heck i don't care aslong as its american, or even european. but we are building it to whipe the grin off our other friend who has a 93 F250 with a 5.8 and since i put headders on his truck and did his exhaust he is being all cocky. so we are planning a 450 horse 360 for this truck and not telling him we are, ultimate sleeper truck its beat up and the paint is falling off.....but it'll run good, the buddy i am building this with is a mopar guy he has a 99 ram 4x4 and this truck. i have a TJ and my 85' and a mustang cobra in the near future. fun is fun!!!!
