battery light flashing

battery light flashing

battery light flashes under acceleration, then guaqe reads low then truck dies. let it sit then give it a jump -- low and behold it starts right up---changed the belt -same problem any ideas

Get a new battery first. I would also have the alternator tested.

Like Monsta said battery or alternator if you go to someplace like Autozone they will test it for free. If it's the original battery it wouldn't be a bad idea to replace it anyhow.

one battery or two? start by cleanining battery posts and terminals, maybe a bad ground does your ex have a gage or just a light if the gage shows charging probably a battery problem assuming connectons are tight and clean. remember easy stuff first.

I saw this thread and remembered that my battery light would come on when I accelerated hard, but the alternator gauge wouldnt go up or down and the truck never died afterwards. I didnt know if anybody figured out what it was.

Seen the battery light twice both times alternators, first in the Excursion then in the F250. Both times started loosing electrical stuff then the batteries just died.

Very easy to swap out alternators on the 7.3's.
