i was looking at purchasing a set of injectors off of ebay for $129.00 plus shipping, it was giving the info for the injectors and in the info this is what it said. These injectors are complete remanufactured and not merely cleaned and tested. what exactly does this mean, it must be something they have to put in there to save there own *** because there remans wright.
The parts in an injector that wear is the tip assembly, which is the barrel part that sticks out the bottom, and the valve pin- they are matched at manufacture. I bought brand new stanadyne tips for my E code injectors, as I had made a test rig. The spring wear is almost negledgable, added .002 shim to each one to get back up to 1950-2050 pop pressure. They put new tips in those remans- phone and confirm. Just as good as new IMO.
If you're thinking about buying those injectors from Diesel Care in Memphis, think twice. They have a pretty lousy reputation. I wouldn't buy anything they've rebuilt, but you CAN get new ones from them or other injection shops on ebay for $180. The difference between rebuilt and new injectors is close enough that I chose to just buy new ones and not have to turn in my old ones for cores.
Just type "diesel injector" into e-bay. I have rebuilt injectors and an IP from them that when installed fired right up with no problems -8 months no problems.
