From 1st to second?
I just bought an 1984 bronco with a 351W 2bbl I just went thru it and found some vacuum lines cracked replaced them and also found the kickdown linkage disconected.and now reconected. my problem is now it does not shift from 1st to second until about 30mph and then when I try to cruise at 45mph it keeps shifting from second to third. and it shifts hard Any ideas why this is doing this? is this normal? could I have missed a vacuum line? any help would be much appreciated.

Is this an automatic trans, if so there is a valve on the passenger side of the trans that helps it shift called the modulator valve that works on vacume.Sometimes they go bad or you may have mixed up the hose for it. Not positive because I have'nt seen your truck but its possible.
