Steering Dampers Leaking

When I changed my oil at 15k I noticed that the steering dampers (shock like things under fan) were wet. Wiped it dry and today (just over 16k) I notice they are still wet, with a drip coming out of one. Any ideas? I am taking it in Monday to have it checked. Over the past 2k miles I thought it drove a little different, more vibrations in the steering wheel, but I have been driving a blazer to save some miles on my truck when I am not pulling a trailer. Thanks guys, Levi

I agree with scraprat. Take it back since it's a new truck. The steering damper is an easy swap for a new one and should last way beyond 16K miles. But since it's covered, let them do the work and pay for the part.

Warranty issue. It's a $30 part anyways.

If it were me, I would buy an aftermarket replacement. Like Jekuo said, it's probably only around 30 bucks. For the time I would have to sit at the dealership, it would cost me much more than 30 bucks of my time. And, I'll bet they don't have one on the shelf. So after you wait an hour for them to check it, they'll come back and tell you it has been ordered and you'll need to return in a few days, then wait another hour for them to get it installed.
