I have a 1979 F-250 supercab(check out the photos if you'd like), I have done alot of work on this truck knowing what I want. I Have a 1999 Dodge seat in the front new carpet and everything else. I need someideas for the back seats. I have 3 subs and a couple amps that need to go back there. but I also need some seats. Anyone have some neat ideas for me? Thanks Jesse.
There are kits you can buy to raise the rear seat 3-4 inches. that should give you some room to install down firing subs and an amp. They run around $125 + shipping but it may give you an idea to fab your own brackets. Heres one place I know of http://www.lmiwelding.com/seat1.htm
Thats not a bad Idea. I would loke to do something a little more custom. The factory seat and all the plastic is pretty hammered. I have the back seat out of the 99 Dodge but the back is so high it would look like crap. Thanks Jesse.
Fab up some frames out of square tube, then go buy some decent junkyard seats that are close in size to what you're trying to fit. Take the junkyard seats apart and use the springs and cushions to fit your square tube frame. If it's close, use the covers too, but if not go have some covers sewn up at an upholstry shop or get some fabric/naugahyde/vinyl and cover them yourself.
If the configuration is close to stock, you could try to take a stock cover and make it fit.
Thanks, I've been looking on craigslist for some cool seats none have cought my eye. I has an idea today. Have ya'll seen those jr dragster seats? The only people riding in back are my kids. I'v got the bench with the folding console in front, so 3 adults fit fine. Those might be really cool, than I could build a nice console between the two back seats and put the subs and amps in it. What do ya think. Jesse
