I'm looking at maybe buying a 1984 E150 van that's not far from my house.
I already know it has a 302 and an AOD, but I'm trying to figure out which
axle it has. I can tell it's a Ford nine-inch, but unfortunately the van's not
currently running and mired in the mud. On the data sticker, it has an axle
code of either '16' or '18' (it's pretty badly faded and hard to tell). I'm
hoping someone here can save me the misery of trying to crawl in the mud
looking for the axle tag. Yeah, I know, I'm a lazy bum. Anyone?
Many, many thanks for the help, guys! I looked at the tag again today and
I'm almost 100 percent positive it's a '16'. Looks like its time to break out the
checkbook......
