I'm looking into getting a '93+ Bronco and I was wondering how reliable Broncos are and everything? What types of problems if any have y'all had with your bronco? Does every bronco have the electric rear window? How can you tell when the Bronco is a vert or can every hard top pop off some how?
Sorry for some of the dumb questions I really don't know much about Broncos...
I've got 118k and still running strong on my 94. Every vehicle has it's share of problems but I would say Bronco's are very reliable. If you look at the message boards all you will see is problems don't let that fool you there are lots of trucks out there and this is just a place to get help.
Bronco's are built more like trucks than other SUV's. Just beware they don't ride nice(like a car) and they like gas.
Yes all newer Broncos have electic rear windows and the fiberglass top does come off. Technically it's illegal to take the top off because of the rear brake light but I don't know anyone who has been stopped because of it.
The reliability depends on that particular truck and how it has been kept up. mine has been really reliable. All of the truck have the electric window and tehy all have removable tops though it is technically illegal on models after 1992. because of the third taillight. But they are great trucks I have mine now for about 4 years and I love it. The only major problems I have had was my transmission had to be rebuilt around 95,000 miles and my oil pumped died a few weeks ago at about 117,00 miles. both expensive problems but well worth paying to fix them or doing it yourself if you have the know how.
Have a 82 w 124k. Engine rebuild at 115k, but that was my fault. Great vehicles, and mine has been very reliable. Just purchased 1995, and cant part with my old 82 model. Enjoy! Norman
I love my Bronco. It's a great joy to drive. I just bought it 2 weeks ago. Only major problem I've had so far was my rear window stopped working but on my own and with the help of the people here I've figured it out and I'm waiting for my new window motor so I can install. Other than that I've got a couple tiny rust problems and thats all. It's an '86 with a 351 H.O. which has been well taken care of and it's still strong at 160k miles. It was actually rebuilt so the truck has more like 300k miles on it. I take pride in knowing I can go over pretty much anything. Most of the time I don't even realize I'm going over speed bumps, small dogs or children. I err mean. . The engine has lots of power. No matter how little I push on the gas I can't help out acclerating the car next to me at a stop light. It's got a great sound with stock exhaust. Also I think I may have a backfire but it's not a big deal. When I rev high it sounds kinda like someone throwing sand into a fan. But anyway. They're awesome trucks. When I first saw the one I own now I knew it had to be mine. They've got plenty of room inside and lots of room in the back seats and even the cargo bay.
Thanks for all the help. I used to drive a '98 F-150 and I traded it in for my '01 Mustang and now I'm just wanting to get back into a truck. I'm always running into something where I need a truck and now I can't do nothing about it w/ my Mustang. Has anyone really tricked out there bronco on here? I don't mean anything importish I talking about good sound systems, remote starters, awesome paint jobs...Is there a way I could get a custom alarm w/ a remote where I could raise and lower the rear window? How hard is it to take off the back or the bronco? Anyone know a website where I can find some accessories for the bronco like brushguards and stuff?
I am the original owner.Ran it between the Tampa Bay area and N.Georgia every 3 to 4 weeks. 1100 miles round trip. Never left me on the side of the side. This is not a beater. I change the oil/filter every 3000 miles and do whatever routine maintenance is necessary. Will probably buy another vehicle at some time, but the Bronco is staying. If you are looking for a good site, check out MyBigBronco.com Lots of good info.exchanged with Bronco owners that know there stuff. Good luck.

I Bought my 93 XLT less than a year ago. Since then I've blown all kinds of money on a brush/grille guard, PIAA fog lights. I installed grab handles to the side of each door, and put blackouts over my head and taillights. Then i added running boards and had my windows tinted. When i bought my baby there was already an alarm and keyless entry installed, and i plan on putting in a remote starter. Just the other day I had my system installed. Kenwood 600W amp (to complement my Kenwood CD player) and 3 10" MTX subs. There is a hell of a lot of room to fill in a full-size and the 3 10"s fill it EASILY when the pre-amp is set at only 25%. I have mainly dealt with local small shops for my grilleguard and system, but have gotten a lot of smaller accessories from jcwhitney.com

You got any pictures of your Bronco...Have you gotten new rims and tires yet? Once I get mine I'm planning on getting an alarm system w/ remote start...Your Bronco sounds nice

I plan on taking some pictures soon for my gallery. I've just been too lazy to get around to it. As for rims and tires, I ordered some wheel covers (from jcwhitney.com) that leave the center hubs and cover the boring 15 hole part of the rims. Until I get more money...this will do.
HELP, HELP! How many people does it take to change a taillight bulb on a 94 Bronco full size?? If you feel like helping a damsel in distress, I pose you this question.
I, a fairly intelligent woman, and my trusty ASE certified, car-racing, engine-rebuilding-business mechanic, cant seem to remove the tail light on my 94 Ford Bronco. Once the two screws on the left panel are removed, the taillight assembly will not come off. On the one side, the light socket holds it in, on the other it seems to be secured by invisibke screws (the side next to the tailgate). I realize that changing a light bulb should be a lot simpler than this, and I am loathe to manhandle the thing with a flat blad screwdriver, cause it appears the previous owner tried that and it's half-busted now. If you know of something we're doing wrong or not doing, write me back!
