I recently switched from the stock 17" wheels to the stock 18" wheels with 275/70/18 continentals. I realize I have to redo the computer and the spedo is off.
How does the larger tire daimeter effect the odometer? Is it recording more miles than are actually being traveled? It seems that my shifting is off slightly and I have a troyer tuner in the works but till then, will it harm my truck running the larger tires or how will it effect it?
Just take it down to the dealer and they can recalibrate your speedo... They can do it up to 35" size tires..
good luck,
Steven
Thanks for the info guys,
My dealer that I got the truck from told me that they don't reprogram the spedo because I "altered" the vehicle from stock. Ford won't give them the programs to recalibrate. Nice huh, I knew they were lying through their teeth.
