I put i gauges so now i can see what the temp is. I was gong to be putting in the 6.0 cooler. The temp dose not warm up to 100 while I am driving normal, gauge dose not go any lower than 100, It warmed up to 120 the other moring as I was driving home in 4 wheel drive. I was making first tracks in 18 inches of snow.
so my ?
1: is with the 6.0 cooler going to make the tranny run too cold in the winter? 2: Is that gong to be bad cuz it never warms up?
3: Dose it warm 20 + dergee's with not much work?
4: when I towed my 5er last summer the fluid never got hot so i am not worried about the temp rising to hot just seemed like it warmed up with out much work? Is that normal?
thanks for the help
Keith
I run a tranny cooler and it barely gets to 100 deg. in the winter. There's a by-pass for when the trans temp is cold. I was in 4x4 the other night and my temp still stayed at 100 deg but I wasn't pushing 18" of snow. I think most guys see a tranny temp of approx. 60 deg. above ambient temp in summer. I'm not 100% sure about that 60 deg number but it's close to that. Do a search and you'll find more info than you ever wanted.
