I see this problem alot. What has happened is that your evap coil will condensate a little bit when you run it. There is a drain in the bottom of your heater box that allows this water to drain onto the ground. this drain consits of a piece of plastic hose that has a duckbill on the end of it. check to make sure that it is clear of debris. To get rid of the smell, mix 50/50 clorox and water and pour it down the cowl vent. then flush with clean water. good luck.
