I was told i need a Battery Isolator because im running a 300 watt stero and also a cb radio thats 200 watts.can i buy a Battery Isolator at any auto parts store like advanced auto?its for my 95 f 250 that has a 351w.Also do you think i need a biggger alternator mines just the stock 95 amp alternator.Also where would i hook the 2nd battery up?one guy told me put it where my washer fluid/coolant thing is but i really dont wanna lose that is there any other place i can mount it?i also notice Battery Isolators are rated in amps so seeing i have a stock alternator should i get a 95 amp Battery Isolator?how hard are these things to hook up anyway?does anyone have pics of this type of setup?also where do you get the battery tray for the 2nd battery?thanks an info will help

Well, are you doing this because someone told you it was necessary, or are you having a problem? Battery isolators are great if you want to run this stuff with the truck off, but if you intended use is something else, you may want to re-consider.
Just wanting to make sure what the situation is before giving any recommendations.
Is the 500W stereo advertised watts or actual watts? Most of those advertised watt ratings can be divided by at least 10 to get closer to actual watts.
I have got an actual 40W stereo that blows my son's 1000W stereo system clear away onto another continent.

yes its a 200 watt cb it runs alot of money not really legal but thats another storey.....put it this way when i have the stereo on and i talk on my high power cb radio my head lights will go dim at night.i was told it would be a good thing to do to hook up an Battery Isolator with all that power to one battery cause it sometimes will drain it.anyway i been searching alot of old posts so i know what i have to do now...take care..
