460 swap
I'm going to stay with my 89 bronco for the time being and am considering pulling the tired old 5.0 and manual tranny and swaping in a 460.
I'm sure people out there have done this, can you let me know what kind of things to consider as far as engine mounts, and any other changes I would have to make to the drive train system to accomodate the engine?
Since I'll be swaping out the tranny (lets keep it manual) and transfer case to any imput on that would be appreciated.

I know when you change to a big block motor you need a bigblock bellhousing transmission and t-case. this locates the transfercase to the read (guessing about 3-4 inches) the front driveshaft must be cut and welded longer and I guess the read would be ok if you added a good susp. lift.

I swapped a 460 into my 1984 Bronco, I did need a Big-block C-6. Once I did that it swapped right in, no need to cut and weld driveshafts, so you might want to consider that.
L and L is the way to go for any parts you need to do the swap. The prices aren't the cheatest, but you get good quality stuff.
I used their Headers, Oil filter relocation kit, Alternator bracket, oil pan/pump kit, Motor mounts.
If ya have any other questions about the swap, just ask! Trust me if you want a bronco that will Rip! its the way to go!
But, don't expect good milage
