mko clearance issues

installed the 5" MKO system tonigh, and have a few areas that are rubbing. first the down pipe on the head is rubbing, and the tail pipe is rubbing on the shock. i spent a good 2 hours on the tail pipe trying everything and with no luck. anyone have any suggestions??? also it appears there is no way the spare tire is going back up there. any help would be great. it does sound awsome tho, and i did suspect id have a few issues, i mean after all this is some huge exhaust. thanks

Mine rubs on the shock also. I figure that it will take forever for one of them to rub through. The spare will go up just push it to the left as you raise it up. I had to push mine over about an inch to get it to go. Did some of your hangers end up all cockeyed? Some of mine sure did......

I posted about this the other day. I had the DP hit the head and it is going to have to be tapped in to clear. The problem I'm having is the clamp had crushed the two together enough too not let it out. I have about a 1/4" still in the 4" reducer and can't get it out. I'm thinking I'll have to cut the 1/4" off and tap it in from there. I would suggest to anyone else if they plan on ever taking this thing apart to by the 4" wide clamps used on big rig exhaust. I couldn't refrain from driving so I have a nice scratched spot on the DP showing me where the clearance issu is. It will mold easy with a ball peen hammer so don't go hog wild.

Oh, and spares are overrated.

The tailpipe is the biggest pain. I drove for a week to let everything "Settle in" and then loosened all of the hangers and clamps and readjusted everything and now have no rubbing issues anywhere. at best there is only about 1/4" of space to get than 4"DP aligned right and its alignment effects the entire exhaust.

Yeah my 4" downpipe was a pain to get hooked up but I had no clearance problems except at the transmission crossover. I also had problems with the clamps not tightening enough and the pipe that hooked up to the DP but they were temporary since now every connection is welded tight. I dont think my system will last very long up here in Montana though, its already looking a little rough....mainly the hangars are rusted up pretty bad. Well if it falls out I will just replace it with Stacks .
