Boost questions

First, let me mention that I have a Quadzilla Commander monitor and I know electronics are not really popular here but that is where these boost readings come from.

O.K. I have a question:

What should my boost run stock and with a Supertuner Max Microtuner on either tow safe or tow perf.?
Mine runs about 13-15psi at WOT stock and I didn't see it above about 17 (might have hit 18) even on tow perf at WOT (I didn't get crazy with it). It runs about 7-9 psi at 75-80 mph on the highway with a trailer about 6k lbs.
My truck is an 03 6 speed, has about 75k miles, and is relatively stock (other than the tuner, a K & N FIPK intake (only been on for about 2-3k miles so I don't think the wheel is dusted- but I am thinking of changing it), and muffler delete with split pipes from resonator back.
Is that boost a bit low or is that about right? I had the stealership check it a while back as I thought the fuel mileage was low (10-12mpg most of the time) and they said they felt the boost was a bit higher than normal and that may be affecting the mileage. They didn't say what it was running at that time and I told them not to change anything as I didn't want to lose any power.

I have not done the CCV mod yet so could my intercooler be oiled up or something like that? When I put the intake on the wheel looked O.K. from what I could see but I didn't really look extremely close. Should I check the MAP sensor? Check the turbo again?

I'm thinking of adding a DP Tuner and 4" exhaust, but I wondered if I need to look into this further first.

Thanks for your time and sorry for the book
John

Those boost numbers look about stock I would expect a little higher with a tuner. With the DP I can hit 25 easy without going to full WOT on hard acceleration. Before the tuner that is about what I was seeing

I would bet you have a boost leak somewhere. You should be seeing about 20-22 with the ST tuner. No need to change your K+N filter kit. There is nothing wrong with there "kits" just there drop ins.

Check all your turbo boots, Y pipe ones to the IC and back. Also look at the up pipes where they feed the turbo, see if there is any soot (leaks) there.

Thanks

Thanks guys,
I'll check a few things this weekend and post a reply. I have not really checked anything yet, because I just installed the Quad last weekend and noticed the boost. It's not a daily driver so I haven't gotten into it yet.

Thanks again,
John
