I have a 2001 F250 crewcab 4x4 with a 7.3 & 3:73 gears
I want to pull the stock bed and replace it with a flat bed with a gooseneck hook up. I 'll be towing a 25 ft trailer with up to 200 square bales.
Weight should be 8k plus trailer. I don't want to destroy the truck.
I'll probably tow the above 10-15 times a season.
The local ford dealer recommended a F-450 instead.
Thanks for the help,
Firewood

The stock bed should be much lighter than a flatbed unless it aluminum. I would put a gooseneck hitch in the box that is on the truck and run it that way. Your truck will carry that load comfortably.
