rust.......ha
well i have had two trucks die in my day from nothing but rust.......and living in the northern states with all the salt in winter is the problem i assume. but i want to ask has any one ever found a better alternative to stopping some rust then with wire brush and some good layers of paint? i see adds for things that dissolve rust and stop it completely but i wanna hear from real people if those things ever work..

Here in Canada companies like Rust-Check and Krown make good money with their rust prevention sprays. A close friend of mine lost his 1991 Ford Ranger in a head on collision last winter... he's OK except for some lingering back pain. He owned this truck from new and it got sprayed every year, and there was no rust to be found on this vehicle when it was totalled. The Police report mentioned the exceptional condition it was in.
This is as good as I have seen something work, it won't reverse rust but it prevents it on clean metal and stops further rust on pieces already infected.
