loud whine - NEED HELP!
OK here is my problem - I started my truck this morning, drove about a mile,stoped at a light, and started getting a loud whine fome the engine. (LOUD almost like a whistle). The sound stays until about 30 mph then goes away. As soon as I let off the gas, it comes right back. Also whines in park.
It's an 88 xlt 302 with 115K. I recently had Starter, soleniod, battery, and alternator replaced.
Any ideas?

loud whine - NEED HELP!
Sounds a lot like you've got some belt slippage. You can check this by taking a candle and rubbing the wax on the underside of the belt and starting the engine. If it doesn't make any noise, you've found it. Replace the belt. You can also check it with a piece of soap.
