Take this advise wisely!
This is the stuff they should use!

I got a qoute today for $185 by safelite and then I said I'd call back to set up a time, but then the guy said that if I scheduled it with him right then he'd knock it down to $175. So that is definatly not a bad deal and a huge saving of time for myself. Thank you for everyones input.

I'm not able to find anyone who uses Carlite glass. I need a new windshield for my 04 F250. I called Diamond Auto Glass and they quoted me $295+tax for the PPG brand w/ the super duty logo (no tinting) and then price matched Safelite's quote of $220. I want OEM quality and look. Is PPG worth it or should I keep looking for Carlite?

Carlite and PPG brands are of the upmost quality! NO BIAS OPINION HERE!
Now what you're asking for is a CARLITE with SUPER DUTY in the top in the "3rd" visor section. Let me see where I can locate a shop for you and go from there.

I found a local shop that will do the Carlite w/ the Super Duty logo for $270+ tax. The guy questioned the PPG as SUPER DUTY is a trademark or copyright and he wondered how they could sell it as Carlite is OEM and is allowed to use it.

Because it is tagged with the trademarks on it! 1 of these days, I'm going to take a photo or 2 of the CARLITE glass in our warehouse where I work(see it in my gallery)

So what you are saying is the PPG's is sort of an aftermarket w/ the Super Duty logo? I am sort of OCD when it comes to replacement parts. I want OEM. If you can't tell a difference between PPG and Carlite OEM then I'll go w/ the PPG as it's cheaper!

You can only get the Super Duty logo with a Carlite. PPG is a supplier to GM and other manufacturers that dont make their own glass. Ford/Carlite wont allow the other brands to make them with the logo.
Carlite, Pilkington and Guardian are the only brands that I would install in my Super Duty or Excursion. I have been in the glass business for 18 years and sorry but PPG is not the best quality, although not as bad as XYG, FY or Safelites SGC- among others. They do fit GMs, Honda, etc. well, just not Super Dutys, Excursions or newer E-series. - They arent bad but if youre picky like me, then you might not be happy with it.

If you call a glass shop you can request what brand you want, if they say no then you should say bye.
Also, it is now illegal to wave insurance deductibles, although some guys are still doing it.

So what is it they are selling then? Safelight and sellers of PPG both told me they have glass with the Super Duty logo. One of them even told me it was etched in and not some sticker.

Its got to be a Carlite, unless somebody just started making it, I havent seen it yet.
If you want my advice steer waaaay clear of Safelite.

Yeah I'm def going with Carlite, but I was just curious how they were selling it without getting slapped with a copyright infringement lawsuit.
