Front windshield Rem/Install
I read some of the older forums, but got a little confused. I was thinking of getting a window from the junkyard, but heard that this was a job for someone who specializes in this. I read that you need some type of gasket, but I could no tfind it. Isn't just a tar/atv sealant that the glass lays on? Any help would be great. Thanks in advanced.

I think as far as time, nerves, and probably even money, you'd be better off with one of these services that shows up and replaces your windshield at your house. Or, if you have a real windshield shop close by. You get a gaurantee that way also. I've been away a long time, so am not up to date on prices. If you've ever tried to clean that glue off, you'll probably invest in a new one. Whatever you do, or whoever does it, look real close at the surface where you'll be putting the window back in. Thoroughly repair any hint of rust and/or cracked/peeling paint. There's a fly by night guy here that has charged Joe an arm and a leg for a job that leaked under seperated paint or rust.

I have local shop swap for 50.00. they have tools to remove them . (If you take a new one out you will gladly pay for swap). But you can get window sealant at most real auto parts houses (Ones that mix paint and have a body repair section , Not most chain stores) Although the mega store can probably order it. I reinstall the side windows on a jeep while back. Get yourself helper and make sure bonding surface is clean.
