i checked my tranfer case and its full past the fill plug, but what im not under standing right now is why is my fluid from the transmission keep going into my transfer case and causeing it to have too mauch and not enogh in the transmission. what is causing this. thank you
There's about 3 different transfer cases for an '86, and no 1986 F250 ever had a 400 engine unless it was swapped in. The last year for the 400 was in 1982.
On the side of the case, left side is the T/C ID number. The number will include 7A195..post that here to get the right seal. You will need that number to get the correct seal, unless a shop does the work, because the seals are only listed under that tag number. The seals are not shown in the parts lists.
this is a 1986 f250 with a 400 that i order for a 81 but real for my 86 with a c6 tranny and a bg 1345 transfer case. what seal is bad. the seal on the transfer case facing the transmission or the seal on the transmission facing the transfer case. thank you
